Associate Professor of Research Methods and Diagnosis in Education, Faculty of Education at the University of La Laguna. Currently she teaches in the Degree in  Early Childhood Education,  in the Degree in Pedagogy- Education Studies and Master’s degree in Education and ICTs (e-learning). In addition, she participates teaching in the Diploma of Specialization in Teaching Reading. She has been research fellowship of FPI Programme (Research Personnel Training). Her Doctoral dissertation examined the prevalence, the cognitive processes and family characteristics of teenagers with dyslexia. She has developed other research activities related to the implementation of Response to Intervention (RTI) Model for the identification and prevention of learning disabilities in reading. She has published several papers in national and international prestigious journals related to cognitive processes and reading. Her main areas of research have focused on the study of prevalence and cognitive, cultural and biological indicators of learning disabilities and the development of technological applications for assessment and instruction of specific learning difficulties.
